Abstract
204,144. Sutherland, S. F. June 28, 1922. Covered folding boxes formed from special blanks.-A folding box or lid comprises a central member or bottom. foldable members or walls and holding flaps connected with the box by relatively thin covering material; the flaps are of such dimensions as to engage frictionally with the side walls of the box when the latter is in the set-up condition. The box or lid, Fig. 55, is made from various forms of blank, that shown in Fig. 1 comprising a bottom A, side walls B, end walls C and corner flaps D, the holding flaps F. Fig. 6, being connected thereto by covering material E, Fig. 3, after that parts B, D with the attached portions of the covering material E have been folded over on to the bottom as shown. The flaps are attached to the portions 5 of the material E and in the collapsed condition, Fig. 7, are folded over on to the sides. The covering material may be in one piece extending over the whole of the blank or separate pieces may be attached to the sides or the pieces E may be used with a complete covering.
