Abstract

202,937. Fenton, W. Sept. 19, 1922. Lantern shutters. -In lamps for vehicles, a series of reflecting shutters 3 are pivoted at their rear edges to a series of movable bars 6 each of which is slotted to receive projections on the ends of the front edge of the reflector hinged to the bar next above, the bars 6 sliding in guides 5 carried bv a frame 4 on the front of the lamp casing 1 and being operated by a lazy tongs device 9. The lazy tongs is carried by a bar 10 fixed at the upper ends of the guides 5 and is operated by a bowden cable 12. The device is also applicable to theatre spot lights, searchlights, lighthouses and lamps for illuminating photographic studios.
