Abstract

172,081. Kent, G. V. Aug. 24, 1920. Lantern obturators.-A lamp 1 is provided with an extension or hood 2 hinged thereto and containing a plurality of louvers 3 mounted so that each louver is slightly in front of the one below and has a curved front edge. The undersides of the louvers are polished and the upper surface gives a dull white or matt surface or vice versa, and the louvers are angled slightly so that direct rays of light issue from the lamp. The louvers may be mounted so as to be movable, and in the Provisional Specification mechanical and electrical means are described for actuating the louvers.
