Abstract
202,670. Wrentmore, W. May 29, 1922. Spray carburettors. - In a carburettor of the kind in which air is drawn through a rotary drum of wire gauze or the like dipping in the fuel, the drum 22 is provided with a flanged cylindrical baffle 25a to prevent fuel from passing into the air inlet 15. The drum extends into a well 23 at the bottom of the mixing-chamber 10 and is supplied with fuel from a float chamber 11. The well is provided with baffles or inwardlyextending ribs to prevent displacement of the fuel by vibration. The air inlet 15 is controlled by an adjustable cap 28 pivoted at 29. The cap may be operated from a distance by a Bowden wire or the like. The drum may be driven positively or by a suction-actuated fan.
