Ball and float valves. - In a compact arrangement of a compression refrigerating plant, the liquefied refrigerant is delivered from the condenser 12 to a chamber 19 provided with a valve comprising coaxial and relatively - rotatable cylinders 24, 25 provided with more or less registering slits and actuated, through levers 26 and links 27, by movements of an annular float 28. The refrigerant passes through a distributing-chamber 33, and through the central passages 34 in the evaporator elements 32, returning after evaporization by way of annular passages 35 therein and a collecting-chamber 36 and pipe 37 to the compressor 3.
