Abstract
191,071. Krupp Akt.-Ges. Germaniawerft, F. Dec. 31, 1921, [Convention date]. Cylinders receiving liquid fuel. - Fuel is sprayed by compressed air the pressure of which is regulated by that of the scavenging air, so that as the scavenging air pressure rises with increasing engine speed, the pressure of the spraying air rises also, but at a less rate. The scavenging air enters at C and presses on the piston A, which compresses the spring E through the intermediary of the toggle gear D, thus unseating a valve L, and permitting injection air at high pressure in the pipe F to pass into the delivery pipe G. The toggle gear, which may be replaced by other suitable devices such as lever, cams, eccentrics, &c., is so ararnged that the ratio between the scavenging and injection air pressures becomes greater as the scavenging air pressure rises with increasing engine speed. A dashpot K is provided. In the Specification as open to inspection under Sect. 91 (3) (a) a toggle device was described as illustrated in Fig. 2 (Cancelled). This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
