Slide valves, piston : linkage gears ; reversing- valves.-The cylinders 1 are put by means of a grooved valve 9 into communication with ports 15, 17 which act as inlet and exhaust, or vice versa, according to the position of a sleeve 5 surrounding a. connection 4 having supply ports 7, 8 and ports 14, 16 communicating with ports 15, 17 and either one connected to the atmosphere by a sleeve port 21 and the other to one of the ports 7, 8 by a cavity 6. The valve 9 is pressed down by a spring, and raised by an eccentric 11 and push-rod 10.
