Abstract

Regenerators. - In a regeneratoi of the kind in which a regenerative mass rotates partly in a heating. fluid and partly in air or gas to be preheated, the rotor 2, Fig. 1, is supported by a ring 13 which rests upon rollers journaled in the portion 1b of the outer casing. The roller 11a serves also as a driving-roller. Guide rollers 12 Angturbin. July 5, 1922, [Convention are also mounted on the casing 1b. Air or gas to be heated and the heating - fluid are forced through the apparatus in the direction of the arrows by fans 4, 5 mounted on the shaft 3. A central flue 8 is provided to allow the heating gases to flow past the regenerator. Fig. 3 shows a modification in which the rotor 2 extends entirely across the casing.
