Regenerators.-In an air or gas heating-apparatus of the kind comprising a rotary disc or body provided with channels which communicate alternately with air or gas heating-flues and waste-gas flues, the rotary disc or body 1 is enclosed within a casing 2 provided at the top with a fan chamber 3 through which air or gas and flue gases are drawn by fans 4, 5 mounted on a shaft 6 supported in bearings 7, 8. Each fan is surrounded by a removable ring 9, 10 which may be adjusted to suit the position of the fan. The disc 1 is mounted on a vertical shaft 11 supported in adjustable bearings and is enclosed between walls which divide the casing into two passages of equal or unequal size or within a pipe 15 as shown. The disc is driven by a friction roller 18 mounted on a shaft 19 pivoted at 20 and driven through belt and friction or other gearing. The shaft 19 is driven from the fan shaft 6 and the speeds of the fans and disc bear a definite relation. The blades of the fans may be adjusted. Specifications 162,250 and 185,383 are referred to.
