Abstract

199,992. Johnstone, D. V., and Fearn, J. W. Sept. 12, 1922. Breech actions, drop-down barrel.-Relates to single-barrelled drop-down guns of the kind having a sliding firing-pin 32 connected to a cocking-lever 39 having a thumb-piece 40 behind the top lever 31. The firing-pin embraces the vertical locking-spindle 30, being formed with a slot 33, Fig. 4, of sufficient length to permit of the cocking and firing movements. The mainspring 34 is mounted in a recess in the firing-pin and at the rear abuts against a fixed pin 36. The sear 42 engages with a bent in the hub of thecocking-lever.
