Abstract
199,908. Dineen, H. A. J. May 18, 1922. Piston and tubular valves for controlling the supply and exhaust to and from hydraulic presses, in which high and low pressure water is used. A tubular member closed at both ends by removable plugs is provided with three series of perforations 4, 5, 6 adapted to co-operate with perforated rings 13, 14, 15, 16 packed with cup leathers and in communication with the high and low pressure inlets 12, 8a, the exhaust 9 and a port 11 leading to the press. When in the exhaust position water can escape by perforations 4, 5 and port 9<a> and also by perforations 5, 6 and port 9<b>. A passage 10 is provided to discharge any leakage past the cup leathers. The valve is actuated by a hand lever working over a notched quadrant.
