Abstract

198,888. White, A. E., (McKiernan Terry Drill Co.). May 16, 1922. Loose ball valves; seats. -A ball valve is actuated by a sliding plunger and is provided with a yielding seat. A valve cage 16 supported in a casing 10 is constricted at its lower end to form a support for a ball or other valve 19. Apertures 23 and grooves 22 are provided for the passage of fluid. The seating for the ball is formed at the lower end of a member 24 which is pressed downwards by a spring 26. The ball 19 is pressed upwards on to its seat by a plunger which moves horizontally in contact with the lower face of the valve casing.
