Abstract
154,118. Reading, H. Nov. 22, 1919. Valves.-A valve of the type controlled by an elastic fluid cushion in the opening movement and drawn towards its seat in the closing movement by a spring comprises a hollow plunger 10, cushioned below and having a spring 9 secured in the valve by a flange, as shown. The discharge ports 8 are arranged at different distances along the axis so as to obtain a variable opening by uncovering one or more of the ports in succession in accordance with the gaseous charge in the sleeve 3.
