Abstract
198,624. Lobban, C. H., and Geneve, C. A. Dec. 28, 1922. Reinforced-concrete floors.-The ribs of reinforced-concrete ribbed floors are reinforced at their junctions with the main beams A, walls, or other supports by a pair of bars d spot-welded or otherwise rigidly attached to V-shaped stirrups e before being placed in the mould, and forming the upper tension or negative reinforcement. The lower rods c are dropped into position, and are long enough to reach from one support to the. next; light reinforcing fabric g may be added. Several stirrups e may be formed on a continuous rod. The floor is cast on steel shuttering j, Fig. 9, the adjacent edges of which may overlap or be spaced by a bridging-piece o to fit various spans.
