Sliding-jaw wrenches. - The fixed jaw 10 of a quick-adjustment wrench is provided with a flat-sided cylindrical shank 16 on which the movable jaw 13 is slidably mounted. A sleeve 25 surrounding the shank 16 is rotatably connected to the jaw 13 by means of a curved annular flange 35 on the sleeve engaging a curved shoulder on a reduced extension of the jaw. The sleeve 25 is provided with a segmental screw-threaded portion 27 engaging screw threads on the shank for final adjustment, a spring 30 being interposed between the end of the sleeve and a disc 31 on the end of the shank to close the jaws when the part 27 is opposite the flat side 17 of the shank.
