197,369. Shaw, A. H., and Peachey Process Co., Ltd. Feb. 6, 1922. Gases, absorbing.- Apparatus for use in impregnating liquids or solutions with soluble gases comprises a closed vessel 2 provided with a series of superposed perforated trays, pans, or dishes 4 down through which the liquid may pass in a series of fine streams or a succession of drops, a supply container 1 for the liquid connected to the closed chamber by a pipe 5 terminating therein above the uppermost tray, a collecting receptacle 3 connected to the lower end of the closed vessel by a pipe 9 shaped so as to form a liquid trap, and one or more gas inlets 7 at or towards the lower end of the closed vessel for the admission of gas to replace that absorbed by the liquid.
