Abstract

Dressings.-A surgical dressing consists of two layers of wadding, the layer next the skin being absorbent, while the outer layer is of " health wadding," i.e. wadding which has not been degreased. The external face of the outer layer may be covered with a layer of paper or fabric, or with impermeable material such as indiarubber, and one or both layers of wadding may be tinted to aid in their disinfection. The layers are pressed together and mechanically assembled in rolls, strips or sheets of any dimensions.
