463,256. Compound sheet materials ; reinforced paper. MACKIE, W. CAMPBELL-. Sept. 25, 1935, No. 26520. Drawings to Specification. [Classes 96 and 140] An absorbent paper handkerchief consists of a number of superimposed layers of very thin but highly absorbent paper, e.g. cellulose wadding paper, having interposed between them a textile fabric in the form of fine gauze. The layers may be united by pressure, e.g. between embossing or plain rolls, an adhesive being also used, if desired, applied preferably to the crossing strands of the gauze, e.g. by dipping. The gauze may be applied centrally of an even number of absorbent paper layers, e.g. between the inner two of four layers. An adhesive composed of glucose, gelatine, and glycerine may be used.
