Abstract

A surgical mask comprises a layer of cellulose wadding held either between two sheets of high wet-strength tissue paper or between one sheet of such paper and a sheet of polyethylene coated cellulose wadding. The mask is preferably of rectangular shape with the layers held together by securing at least the longer edges of the outer sheets by adhesive, heat sealing, crimping or stitching.
