476,600. Diapers. TENNANT, W. J. (D.D.D. Manufacturing Co.) June 12, 1936, No. 16497. [Class 141] A diaper comprises front and rear waistband sections A, B, each consisting of an outer layer 7, Fig. 4, and a double inner layer 8 which are secured together along their upper and side edges so as to provide pockets 12 to receive the ends of a disposable pad C which consists of an absorbent pad 21, Fig. 2, enclosed in a gauze cover 22, the ends of the pad being secured detachably to the inner layer 8, e.g. by safety pins 23, 24. The sections A, B taper towards their ends so as to provide freedom of leg movement, and the adjacent ends of the sections are detachably secured together. In a modification, one pair of adjacent ends of the sections A, B are stitched together.
