[Class 141.] A diaper, mainly intended for infants, is formed of a rectangular strip 5 of non-absorbent openweave fabric, such as gauze, having its longitudinal edges 6 hemmed, and its end edges, which meet at the waist-line, reinforced by bands 8 of surgical or adhesive tape, the ends of which are perforated to receive safety-pins. A pad or filling 12 of absorbent material, with or without a backing, is provided.
