[Class 81 (ii)] [Also in Group VIII] A surgical dressing comprises sheets 130 of' absorbent gauze &c. enclosed between self-adherent layers 160 of open-mesh textile fabric, having the threads coated with underlying and overlying coats of vulcanized and unvulcanized rubber latex respectively, with or without intermediate layers 150. Shearing of the material closes the edges 18, 20.
