Carbon papers and like transfer materials.-A permanent copy of written or printed matter is obtained by employing a copy-receiving sheet and an intermediate sheet which are treated with separate chemicals, for instance solutions of sulphate of iron, and tannin respectively, that interact to form an ink. The intermediate sheet may be smeared with glycerine, and a small quantity of soluble black or other dye may be added to the tannin.
