Copying documents; printing processes.-In copying documents, such as book-keeping entries, the writing is effected on the leaf 2 of a ledger, a carbon sheet being placed behind the leaf with the coloured face upwards whereby a reversed copy is provided on the back of the leaf. The carbon sheet is then replaced by a ruled card 1, and the entries are copied line by line by exerting pressure on the face of the leaf 2. The writing may also be effected on a loose sheet, the ledger entry being provided by interposing a carbon sheet in the usual way. For exerting pressure, a device consisting of plate springs 4 attached to a handle 3 is drawn along against a rule 5.
