Abstract
386,338. Copying documents. IMPERIAL CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, Ltd., Millbank, London, and JACKSON, H., Hexagon House, Blackley, Manchester. July 14, 1931, No. 20211. [Class 100 (ii).] Typewritten or copied matter prepared with an ink containing basic dyestuffs, e.g. methyl violet, magenta, or malachite green, is prevented from fading by impregnating the paper with a solution of an inorganic hetero-poly-acid, with or without an organic hetero-poly-acid, in water, methylated spirit, or other solvent of the colouring-material miscible with water. The paper is moistened with a solution of phosphomolybdic, phospho-tungstic, phospho-tungstomolybdic, silico-tungstic, or silico-molybdotungstic, or other complex acid containing phosphorus, tungsten, molybdenum, or silicon, alone or in conjunction with a gallic or tannic acid such as gallo-molybdic or gallo-tungstic acid, and is then brought into contact with a reverse copy of the matter to be copied obtained by typewriting on a sheet of paper, the back of which is in contact with a duplicating papar coated with a composition containing a basic dyestuff.
