496,421. Compound sheet materials. ADDRESSOGRAPH - MULTIGRAPH CORPORATION. Sept. 28, 1937, No. 26199. Convention date, Sept. 1. Addition to 493,135, [Group XVI]. [Class 140] [Also in Group XVI] Material for the preparation of planographic printing plates comprises a facing sheet of amyloid parchment, obtained by treating water leaf paper with sulphuric acid, secured to a backing sheet of non-extensible paper, such as Kraft paper, by means of an intermediate layer of waterproof cellulosic adhesive such as cellulose acetate or cellulose nitrate and resin. The plate is preferably translucent and may carry indicia such as trade marks, or markings to facilitate the positioning of the printing image thereon and these indicia may be applied to the inner face of the backing or may be printed on the face of the parchment with an ink which is repellent to the greasy printing ink or is water soluble so as to be removed by the damping operation during printing.
