Drawings to Specification. [Class 100 (ii)] [See also Group VIII] A method of preparing porous sheet or web material for printing consists in securing the sheet or web to an absorbent sheet or web having a waterproof backing prior to the printing operation. The porous material may be silk or cotton fabric, and the absorbent material may be cotton felt. In a modification, the special absorbent sheet or web is omitted, and several sheets or webs of absorbent material united together may be secured to a waterproof backing, the ink passing through the top sheet or web to print the underlying sheets or webs of absorbent material. The waterproof backing may be a sheet or web of material, or may consist of a coating applied to the lowermost sheet or web. The sheets or webs may be secured together by adhesive.
