434,475. Cheques &c. ; cheque-books. SOC. ANON. DE PUBLICATIONS PERIODIQUES (IMPRIMERIE - DESFOSSES), 13, Quai Voltaire, Paris. Nov. 29, 1933, No. 33506. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, May 31, 1934]. [Class 16] Cheques or the like which are to be fraud-proof are characterized by the fact that at least part of the inscription written on the front causes the appearance on the rear side of an inverse reproduction of such incription. The rear face of the cheque may be provided at certain parts with a layer of copying ink, coloured or otherwise, applied in the hot or cold state, so that when the inscription is written on the front side of the cheque the layer is crushed or scaled by the pen &c. The layer may be in the form of a design having zones of different intensities of colour. The layer may be of such a nature and colour that endorsements may be written thereon. In the arrangement shown the cheques a are connected together in book form by stubs b, a sheet c of copy paper being interposed beneath each cheque. A sheet d of cardboard or the like, to which a sheet of blotting-paper may be applied, is connected by a cloth hinge to one of the edges of the lower cover of the book. The copy sheet c receives a copy of the inscription written on the overlying cheque. Where several copies are required, a number of sheets each having on the back, except on the last sheet, an ink &c. similar to that on the back of the overlying cheque, may be incorporated in the book beneath each cheque.
