Abstract
194,512. Bergius, W. M. Feb. 11, 1922. Addition to 169,596, [Class 7 (vi), Internalcombustion engines, Valves &c. for]. Crank linkages.-Comprises modified driving-connections between the sleeve valves of an internal-combustion engine and the rotating disc A described in the parent Specification. In one form, Fig. 1, a roller B having a spherical periphery is mounted on a pin C on the sleeve valve G and engages a bore D formed in the disc. The roller is prevented from axial movement on the pin, but is free to move axially within the bore. The roller and pin may be on the disc, and the bore in the sleeve valve. In another form, Figs. 4 and 5, the pin C is formed with a head C<1> fitting within a correspondingly shaped slot in a cylindrical member C<2> mounted in the disc. The head C<1> may be free to slide along the slot, and the member C<2> held against axial movement, or vice versa.
