Breech actions, drop-down, barrel.-Relates to top-lever bolting mechanism of the kind controlled by a spiral spring mounted in the action body. According to the invention, the spring 20 is mounted in a hole drilled lengthwise in the action body and is so arranged that one end of the spring acts directly, or through a plunger, on the head 25 of the top lever at a point eccentric to the bolt spindle. The hole mav be drilled from the front cf the action body or from the back.
