Abstract

Rigid-jaw wrenches; multiple wrenches; screwdrivers.-In tubular box spanners of the kind consisting of a nest of tubes shaped at the ends to fit nuts of different sizes and wherein the outer tubes are provided with slots through which a stud or clamping screw projects, each tube is adapted to be locked in extended position by a spring sleeve surrounding the stud and coacting with recesses along the slots. In the three tube spanner shown, the inner tube C is fitted with a stud E threaded into an inner ring c and projecting through slots a<1>, b in the outer tubes, and the tube B is similarly fitted with a stud E' projecting through a slot a<1> in the tube A. Spring-controlled sleeves F round the studs coact with recesses along the slots to enable each tube to be fixed in operative position projecting beyond the others. Transverse apertures, such as c<2>, are provided for the tommy bar D, which is formed at one end with a screwdriver point d' and at the other with a hexagonal head d adapted to be fixed in the reversed position shown in Fig. 3 or in position to act as a screwdriver by means of a ball catch d<2>.
