Rigid - jaw wrenches.-A socket wrench comprises a handle 1 with a boss or socket portion at one or both ends and formed integrally with the handle as a stamping or casting, the nut aperture 2 in the boss or bosses having a shoulder 3 at the bottom upon which reducing liners 5, Fig. 3, are adapted to hear. These liners are all of the same size externally, but have nut apertures 7 of different sizes for engaging a range of standard nuts. A hole 4 through the boss accommodates a sciewed bolt, pin, &c. which may project beyond the nut and would otherwise prevent the engagement of the wrench therewith. The liners 5 may be secured by a set screw 6, or frictionally by springs fitted to the side of the nut aperture 2. The Provisional Specification also states that a series of liners nesting one within the other may be provided.
