[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Springs, arrangement of, and mounting bodies and undercarriages on.-A cantilever half-spring suspension for the rear axle of automobile and other vehicles comprises halfsprings A, A<1> arranged to form a kind of V, the apex of which is pivoted on a cross-shaft B on the chassis, while the free end of the spring A carries the axle C, and the free end of the spring A' is pivoted to the chassis. In a modification, a single half-spring A' is arranged at the centre of the shaft B instead of at each end, and the half-springs A are fixed to the shaft B. In a further modification, a single half-spring A<1> is at the centre of the shaft, and two half-springs A are arranged at each end of the shaft, their free ends being attached one above and the other below the axle.
