Cylinders, arrangement of ports in.-In a fourstroke-cycle engine having a sleeve valve 2, main exhaust ports are provided at 8, and auxiliary exhaust ports at 6 which are controlled by the combined action of the valve 2 and the lift valve 10. In the Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) a modification is described in which the main exhaust ports are controlled by a piston valve and the supplementary ports by a lift valve only. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
