Abstract

3061. Clifford, A. Feb. 25. Stud-and-socket fastenings.-Relates to fasteners for bags &c., of the type in which a notched stud or the like is held in engagement with a socket by a spring-pressed catch therein, and consists in improvements in the socket and catch portion. The spring d employed is C-shaped, its free ends bearing against symmetrically-disposed projections c<3>, c' on the catch or bolt c. The front plate a, provided with an aperture a<4> for receiving the stud and another bole through which the pull-button of the bolt projects, is dish-shaped and has lugs a<6> holding tie spring d and a back-plate e in place. The plate e, which also holds the spring down, is depressed at e<4> so as to centralize and guide the bolt c by engaging with a longitudinal groove in it. Projections e<2>, e<3> on the back-plate serve as a means of attachment to the bag &c.
