Stud and eye fastenings.-The back plate of a purse or like fastening is recessed to house the two-limbed spring e, which, after springing into position, will remain in place, but may be further secured by turning over upon it a tongue of metal c<4>. The two plates are secured together by ears a<4> or otherwise. The bolt d, and the finger-button d<2> are formed as shown in Fig. 5, d<3> being the shoulder upon which the spring c abuts.
