Abstract
213,520. Cheney, C. W. Aug. 22, 1923. Hasp fastenings; locks, attaching; fastenings for bags. -Locks or fastenings for purses, bags, attachÚ cases and the like are formed with integral sharppointed prongs, corrugated to inincrease their strength, to enable them to be secured in place by forcing the prongs through the leather or like material and clenching them. The Figures show a hasp fastening, the base plate a of which has three integral bent-up prongs f with sharp points and strengthening corrugations f<2>. When the fastening is laid on a die with the prongs upwards and the leather or like material placed over them, pressure on the leather causes the prongs to penetrate ready for their clenching to secure the fastening.
