Abstract
19,673. Lowcock, J. T. T., and Lowcock, W. J. Sept. 11. Signs.-An illuminated box sign for a motorvehicle is formed with a hinged front having an identification-plate a, Fig. 4, and a coloured glass danger-signal b, and is provided with a reflector d<1>, Fig. 3, behind a lamp d and with an end reflector d<2> for directing the light along the chamber in front of a reflector of tin plate, silvered glass, or other material. The plate a may consist of obscured glass with transparent letters, or may consist of stencilled metal behind which a glass plate is arranged. In the former case, the plate may have recessed corners and is secured in position by strips g, Fig. 4. When using an acetylene or oil lamp, the top of the chamber is curved to allow the combustion gases to escape. The danger-signal may be arranged centrally or in any other position in the front of the sign. Reference has been directed by the Comptroller to Specifications 2943/05, 9262/05, [both in Class 75, Lamps &c.], and 17,480/09, [Class 75 (iv), Lamps &c., Kinds &c. of].
