Pocket and like knives.-In pocket or folding knives having means for retaining the blades in a fully closed position against the action of the back spring, which tends to cause the blades to assume a partially open position, the blades are held in a fully closed position by a bevelled or undercut lug r which projects from one side partly across the width of the cavity in the handle. The lug may be formed upon or oombined with the usual distance-piece c, or it may be formed by bending over a projecting portion of one of the cheek plates a. The blade is opened by pushing sideways against its own elasticity.
