Abstract

9804. Priestman, E. April 22. Pocket-knives.-The handle is made from a sheet of steel or other suitable metal bent as shown in Fig. 2, and provided with edges or lips C projecting over the cavity. The blades, when open, rest on the back of the handle, being retained in position by the upper lip C. The lower lip C may engage an indentation B for holding the blade in the closed position, or if desired, the indentation B may be omitted, the lip being adapted to take over the back of the blade. The lips allow the blade to pass when being opened and closed. The Provisional Specification describes also the sides as being slightly nearer together at the joints than at the opening so that by the spring of the frame the blade is gripped and held open when in use. Specification 1081/02 is referred to.
