Abstract
9447. Poorter, E. A. H. de. April 16, 1913, [Convention date]. Spray carburettors.-A fuel nozzle adapted to hold a reserve of fuel for starting and accelerating comprises a chamber B of fixed capacity fed through a calibrated orifice 0 and-surrounded by an outer tube C, the space between the tubes being supplied with air through inlets D. The chamber B is open at the top, and fuel and air pass to the mixing-chamber through holes E, the top of the tube C being provided with a plug or baffle. Retardation of the flow of fuel may be produced by means of a perforated tube A, with or without wire or other baffles, in the chamber C. In the form shown in Fig. 3, the wall of the carburettor takes the place of the tube C, Fig. 1, and a tube H is provided for slow running. In the Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a), a pear-shaped plug or baffle is shown at the top of the tube C, Fig. 1. This subject-matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
