[Published under Section 91 of the Act.] Reinforced-concrete floors and beams.-Concrete beams, such as that shown in Fig. 6, are prepared beforehand with the shear reinforcement projecting for some distance at the sides or top; the beams are then placed in position, and a floor C, Fig. 9, is cast between them on forms F, the shear members of the beams being bent to form the tension reinforcement for the floor. The floor may extend over the beams, and the members projecting from the beams may be bent into the top and bottom of the floor. Fig. 2 shows a bridge floor and parapet P reinforced by the bent shear members of the supporting-beams. Overlapping bars may be wired or welded together.
