Abstract

7918. Pauly, A. A. March 28. Flooring-blocks.-A floor, roof, &c. of the type comprising reinforced-concrete beams cast in situ between blocks which are supported by the reinforcing-bars, consists of cellular or solid blocks a, Fig. 1, formed at each side with two superposed flanges a<2>, a'. The lower flanges a<2> abut, but the upper flanges are narrow and short of the ends so that concrete can be filled into the space under the bars. The flanges of the blocks may be formed to fit the space around a bulbed tee-bar, as shown in Fig. 2, and the cells in the blocks may be filled with ashes or other light material to prevent the concrete from entering.
