Two-stroke-cycle engines; cylinders, combustion chambers for.-The engine described in the parent Specification is modified by substituting for the annular or transverse piston passage referred to therein a longitudinal passage H, through which scavenging-air enters the transfer pipe G when the ports I, J are placed in communication. The combustion space E, which is constructed as shown in Fig. 1, is separated from the transfer pipe G by a mechanicallyactuated or an automatic valve F.
