Abstract

16,738. Niederlahnsteiner Maschinenfabrik Ges., and Hahn, P. July 21. [Addition to 13,982/11.] Hank type. - With the apparatus described in the parent Specification is incorporated a regulating-device which enables an adjustment to be made before starting the machine, whereby, before the beginning of a period in which the hanks are lifted and turned as described in the parent Specification, a predetermined intermediate period is provided during which the hanks are only lifted. The casing 1 moves between stops 57, 57<d> to displace the hanks between the positions B and A, levers 55 encountering, and being moved over by, the stops at the ends of the travel to reverse the machine drive. If the hanks require to be turned as well as lifted during the sixth movement, starting from position C, a sector 10, mounted loose on a shaft 2 carrying a back sector 3, has its second tooth y engaged by a latch 4 pivoted on the sector 3 while a lug 12 thereon rests on a check-arm 13 held by a detent 15 engaging a tooth 14. At the end of the first movement, the lever 55 is reversed, and a roller 53 carried thereby reverses a rocking lever 52 to rock the shaft 2 to raise the sector 10 one step, so that the latch 4 and a detent 17 engage the tooth y. The machine then travels back, and at the position C is again reversed, whereupon the shaft 2 is rocked back to engage the latch 4 with a tooth w. Another double movement brings the latch behind tooth z, but at the last reverse a lug 33 on a lever 27 passes from the circumferential portion 8 of the sector 10 into a recess 10, moving the lever 35 connected thereto into the path of sector 3, so that at the next reverse, which engages the latch with tooth z, a projection 36 is forced into engagement with a recess 6 on the projection 5 of sector 3. When, at the end of the fifth movement, the machine is again reversed, the following movements occur, (1) the sector 10 rises and the detent 17 engages the tooth z ; (2) a stop-pin 16 on the sector 3 passes under a hook 47 on a rod 49; (3) the axle 22 is rocked, since the lever 27 is now coupled to the shaft 2, to rock an angle lever 23, 24 and the levers 23, 23 press down on a lever 46 to release a hook 48 on a rod 50. Since the reversal of the lever 52 has withdrawn a pin 51 from engagement, the rod 50 falls to the limit of a slot through which the shaft 2 passes. The fall of the rod 50 moves a lever 60 and causes the upper part of an eye 61 in the arm 62 to engage a sleeve on the shaft 26, when a cam surface thereon allows a spring. to force a pawl 68 connected to shaft 26 into engagement with a shoulder 65 on a coupler 65 on the sleeve 84. The sleeve 84 is connected by links 81, 31 to the crank 30 of a constantly driven shaft 19. The turning-hooks 25 on the shaft 26 are thereby oscillated as described in the parent Specification. Spring-pressed stop pins 78 limit the oscillations. When the position C is next reached, the pin 51 lifts the rod 50 to throw out the hook driving means, and, owing to the engagement of the arm 35, levers 27, 28, 29, 43 are driven forward. Lug 33 presses against an abutment to release the detent 17, and the sector 10, weighted at 11, falls to its initial position. The pawl lever 43 drives a ratchet 42 so that a finger 34 runs on one of the elevations 39 on a disk 40, whereby the lug 36 is disengaged and all the parts return to normal. For starting the adjustment at the other end, a second set of hooks 25, controlled by the rod 49, is provided, together with the necessary associated parts. As shown in the present Specification, the second pair of hooks of the parent Specification is replaced by lugs 25<c>, 25<d> on the hooks 25.
