Abstract

4081. Homersham, T. H. C., and Berk, F. W. Feb. 17. Casings; Regulating.-Relates to centrifugal pumps &c. of the kind having guide - blades adjustably mounted so that their inclination to the impeller may be varied. Each guideblade 2 is secured at one side to a pin 6 mounted in a fixed ring 7 and carrying a finger 12 which is engaged by a notched ring 13 bearing on the ring 7. The ring 13 may be partially rotated in order to adjust the inclination of the blades 2 by a hand-wheel operating a crank 15. In a modification, the adjustable ring 13 carries rotatable pins with saw cuts in their ends engaging the edges of the blades 2 above the pins 6.
