[Cognate Application, 7340/13.] Springs, arrangement of; guiding vertical play.-In a motor road vehicle of the cycle-car type a pair of body units of side-car pattern are mounted side by side upon the underframe. In one arrangement, Fig. 1, each body unit A, B is rigidly fixed to an underframe which is suspended by springs from the axles. The underframe comprises side tubes a, a<1>, which are connected by cross-tubes b, b<1> and are inwardly inclined at their forward ends a<2>, a' and connected to form a bracket c for the front cross spring. The ends of the front axle are connected bv radiusrods g<2> to the frame members a<2>, a<3>, and the rear of the frame, which is supported upon the rear axle by quarter elliptic springs h, h<1>, is connected to the ends of the rear axle by radiusrods i. In a modification, Fig. 6, the body units A, B are independently spring-mounted upon the underframe. Beneath each body unit are fixed four vertical pins q adapted to slide through holes in transverse members p, p' fixed to the underframe, bearing-springs v and check springs v<1> being disposed about the pins q. In a further modification, the body units A, B, each spring-mounted on the underframe, may be rigidly connected together.
