Abstract

118,685. Rigby, G. E. Sept. 11, 1917. Guiding vertical play of axles; springs, arrangement of.-The wheel of a side-car or other vehicle is carried by a rear stay B pivoted to the main frame at C and connected to the frame at its free end by one or more pairs of links E and connecting-members M having long bearings F so as to prevent transverse movement. A spring H, preferably of the kind described in Specification 118,439, is secured in a housing G on the frame and is connected by links I to the upper ends of two arms L projecting from the stay B to prevent transverse movements of the links. The arms L are extended, as shown, beneath the stay to form lugs for the attachment of the members M. The stay B is formed as a frame N enclosing the wheel, and the pivot C extends through the forward end of the frame or through an extension of it.
