Abstract

102,392. Stone, C. T. Jan. 18, 1916. Spring devices.-In a rear springing arrangement for motor-bicycles, the wheel axle A<2>, carried by arms G pivoted at G<2> to the main frame, is controlled by Cee springs L, which at the front ends are connected to the main frame, at their centres to the pivoted arms, and at their rear ends at points above the wheel to a carrier J<2> extending rearwards over the wheel. The carrier is formed by the extension of tubes J attached to the front portion of the main frame and to the seat-pillar lug H<3>, and it may be supported by struts K. The arms G are additionally coupled to the main frame by pivoted stays N and links N<2>. According to the Provisional Specification, the two tubes H of the main frame are connected by a lower cross tube to support a pivot spindle G<2>, and by an upper cross-tube to provide for the connexion of the spring shackles, the struts K being arranged to extend from this upper tube.
