Abstract

Laminar springs for motor-vehicles are formed with volute-shaped ends in order to absorb lateral or longitudinal shocks in addition to vertical shocks. The rear suspension consists of cantilever springs 19, Fig. 2, pivotally mounted at 20 on the chassis 1 and having long and short arms which are respectively secured at 22 and 21 to the axle casing 8 and chassis 1. The connexion to the axle preferably consists of a sleeve forming the eye of the spring and rotatably mounted on the axle casing. The front suspension comprises a transverse spring 9, Fig. 3, and divergent sidesprings 15. The spring 9 is secured at 14 to the chassis 1 and its volute-shaped ends are mounted between ears 10 on the upper ends of the steering- knuckles 11. The springs 15 are secured at their root ends to the chassis at 16, and their voluteshaped ends are carried by brackets 18 on the axle 13.
